Fall aster does not bloom over a long season, but come November you will not be able to ignore it. The plant can grow to a mound 8 feet around and 3 feet high. Every inch of the surface will be covered with flat, lavender, quarter-size blooms. It is a root hardy perennial that is especially suitable for use in hot dry locations at intersections of the road and sidewalk. Fall aster attracts our eyes and also attracts butterflies.
