Woodfern

Q: When do you transplant woodfern?

A: It is best to plant in the fall. They become established as root growth takes place all winter. In transplanting, it is imperative to prevent roots from drying out. Hot dry air will damage quickly, so place ferns in a box, cover with damp burlap and keep in cool shade until ready to replant. It is best to have bed ready before digging.
