Moss

1. Q. I have been wondering for some time if there is a common solution to moss on bricks.I put in a brick patio behind our house last summer, and there's been a good accumulation of moss. My main concern is safety -- it gets very slick -- and I wondered if there was some simple organic trick I could use, like changing acidity or alkalinity, to run it off.

A: Moss on bricks is a plant. Anything which would kill a plant should kill the moss. You can try a weak bleach solution, you can try a chlorine drench available at swimming pool supply houses, or you can try any of the mildew removers. All should kill the moss BUT will not remove it -- you still have the pleasure of doing that manually.
