Mom's Fig Preserves Cake

Cream:Add:
- 1 cup Crisco
 - 2 cups sugar
 Sift together:
- 4 beaten eggs
 - 1 teaspoon vanilla
 - 1 cup buttermilk
 
- 3 cups flour
 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon
 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
 - 1 teaspoon cloves
 Add to other mixture with l teaspoon soda dissolved in it. Beat thoroughly.
Add: l cup fig preservesBake in tube pan in 325 degrees F. oven for about 1 hour and 20 minutes
